Margam House

Ok, I realise there are too many to have an in depth C&C - however, I thought I'd tick the C&C prefix anyway, as if anyone does notice something they specifically can advise on - then they can go for it Perhaps if there's something that appears to be amiss in all the pics! The one thing to remember is that I can't change shutter speeds, or aperture or anything... so bear that in mind when you rip them apart! My main bug with these pics is they all look a bit... I don't know... not quite right. :/ Not sure why, but there's something amiss!

Re: Margam House

ooh and poo! they're huge as well... better take them down until i can resize, as to open them up takes ages for people, and leaving them the resized size damages pic quality :/

Re: Margam House

Nice pics Z, but there's too many too C&C effectively really... it would take yonks

I've added a not to the C&C prefix to restrict them to one at a time

Re: Margam House

ok that's no problem! Perhaps a little ineffective now but could then, I ask for number 11 to be C&C if anyone notices this note? as that's one I was really unsure about, and though I liked the idea I had, I'm not sure it worked...

Re: Margam House

Not sure I am qualified to say this but No 11 seems to have either camera shake or is out of focus, camera shake I think as I can find no really sharp area or may be my glasses need cleaning :-0

Do like the composition not sure how one would cope with the close item, if you lock the focus onto the urn the background would be out of focus so I guess you had to try for the best of both. Can you remember what you did?

Love no 8 but thats me all over love bits of things.

Re: Margam House

thanks snapper (i started a new thread for this now, so I'm sure azz will merge them )!

I value your thoughts I did want the urn to be in focus, and the orangery to be slightly out of focus, but looking at it again, you're right, nothing is properly in focus, the urn is a little blurred too lol!

thanks!

Re: Margam House

Taking them as job lot (as you say there's loads) I'd say the biggest C&C isn't anything to do with you - the weather / time of day is giving them that 'flat' feel.

With all those angles - the same shots would have far more impact if the light was better.

With that sky it's hard (without the controls you've mentioned) to get the right balance between the wishy washy sky and the dark stone.

Either a bright sunny day or a low morning/evening glow would have made a difference to the colour and contrast I think.
