Good on you for carrying your camera on that walk with the kids. You never know when a "Kodak Moment" will present itself. I love the 2nd & third shot the best. I sometime shoot dramatic skies in such situation just for use in other photos that have the dreaded "empty" blue skies. An example of such a capture is shown below. Keep taking the kids for walks & posting photos taken along the way.
