The case of the mystery bird box

We've got a wee wood and stream at the bottom of our garden. We do own it and it is part of our garden but as it's out of view we tend to just ignore it and let nature look after it. It's the trees beyond the grass and the washing line

Anyway, the other day I saw something in a tree.

On closer inspection it turned out to a bird box (about 15 feet up) nailed to one of our trees. No idea how it got there.

How strange

Doubt that, even drunk it would still take him 7 years to do it.

Now there's a thought !

PS

They're springing up all over the village.

The whole back garden used to be a field which we bought then divided up and sold in bits to people who also backed onto it. Although we own up the centerline of the stream there's an old 'right of way' up the other side of it. I'm guessing whoever is putting them up didn't realise it's part of our garden.
