thought a little cropping to remove to darker side of the picture would look better

i love these pics very very well done..

i think i prefer the original rather than bazzas edit

moonstones original pic is far more dramatic and by cropping it takes the dramaticness away from it

I thought the original picture was too heavy on the left hand side which definately unbalances the picture. All the attention is being drawn to that side and a picture should attract all over with a focal point. Should there have been a little more of interest on the right it would have been ok.
Look a picture 1 for example, heavy dark shadows of trees either side and a light subject in the middle , result a balanced picture. The darkened trees either side compliment the picture and draw ones attention to the sky focal point.

For me that is a far superior picture technically composition wise, irrespective of the subject matter or how sharp or not it is.
