Watercolour

Now I'm not a fan of too much PP, I prefer the bare minimum to be done to a photograph. However one effect I do like is Watercolour. The following image had a Watercolour effect done on it and was then printed out at 30" x 20" (I just need to find a frame big enough ).

Original

Watercolour

I will just say that both these images have been heavily reduced in size (the 20D saves the files at 72 dpi, which is approx a 48" image - you can obviously increase the dpi and bring the image size down though).

Canon 28-135 3.5-5.6 IS USM

Canon 100 2.8 USM Macro

Re: Watercolour

Very nice, I also like the watercolour effect. What way do you do the watercolour? Is it just the filter in photoshop?

Re: Watercolour

The water colour thingy can look a 'bit much' if over-cooked but you've done it well.

I think they can look can look good on a canvas texure.

Re: Watercolour

It looks really good GW. Some examples of water colours that I've seen look shocking, but this is really nice

Yes - I just applied the Watercolour filter in Photoshop and tweaked a few of the settings.

Phil - I was tempted to have that shot put onto a canvas but went with another instead.
