old transformer

[http://

Just replace some light fittings in one kennel block and to my suprise this what made the old fitting tick. I didn't even see this kind of choke in a fluorescent fitting back in the 1960's

So just wondered how long they had been there.

Re: old transformer

I stand corrected of course you are right , have altered it under picture. Thats a word I havn,t heard for many a year in this context.

Any idea how old the fitting might be?

Re: old transformer

To be honest, the plug looks like quite a new un. I'd put money on late 80's, Early 90's.

Re: old transformer

Its off a crompton crompack4 fitting, its got to be earier than 1993 because thats when we bought this place and i don't think the previous owner had touched them and he was here for 7 years before that. So that must make it pre 1986 at least.

the longer resistor is 5 inches long 24o volts and the other is marked up with 440 volts
