Still learning :D
Had another little play today with the new lens, still getting my head around the use of aperture larger the f/5.6 of what I was used to. Only got 20 mins today before it threw it down

I like 3 best as it looks the most natural. I would try turning the sharpness down a bit, as in the close up shots it looks a little too sharp on the fur?

I think I know what Azz means about the sharpness though.

I have to disagree on the sharpness thing though, feathers have sharp edged when you look close up, the individual strands on the feather are quite distinct close up.

#2 is excellent As I said before in another post, the sharpening setting is to harsh and is spoiling the feather detail, especially in #1 pic. It looks like USM has been applied several times. Do you shoot in Nikon NEF (RAW mode) Sk? if so, then its better to leave the sharpness setting at default level, or, at least a less aggressive setting, and adjust in your Nikon software. If you shoot in jpg then you will be stuck with the HARD setting and won't be able to adjust it when you pp

Personal preference I guess, feathers are sharp and harsh and that is how I like my shots to look
