Photographing birds is something I'd quite like to have a stab at.
Swan's / birds of prey are fine as I've places close to home that are ideal but wild birds is a bit tricky as I don't have the right lens.
We've loads of birds around our gardens but with 4 very skilled cats - I don't like to encourage them. I'd love to put some feeders out and set up my 300m lens hidden in the garden but I know what would happen.

Nice shot Phil Have you thought about using a teleconverter with your lens? I know Nikons are a bit expensive but Kenko has a 2x tele for less than £100.
