Only 45 Baht each

For sale at a market in northern Thailand .

Rats , apparently very clean as they live in the rice fields .... Nice with a little barbeque sauce . Can you see the carrying handle ? .

I wouldn't mind trying rat actually - as long as it was clean and reasonably humanely sourced and killed!

Great stuff - why make a handle when they have one built in.

I thought of Zoundz when I saw this but (as above) she's not soft.

Me - I'll eat anything (or at least try it) and I guess rat isn't any more unusual than things we consider 'normal'.

I laughed at my mate once. it was back in the late 80's and we were in Jenners of Edinburgh. They were one of the first shops around here to stock 'unusual' meats and we bought some vacuum-packed cooked sliced meats at the deli. There was Ostrich and Alligator but my mate was most taken with the Lion.

We let him tell everybody how lovely it was for days before pointing out it was Loin.
