Drip, drip

Milk, printer ink, a powerful torch, some gels...okay, sweet wrappers for the torch, a syringe and a plate.

First impression...I need MORE LIGHT!

Re: Drip, drip

Now if that were me I would cheat by picking out the best and alter the colours in editing. However your not me, so inventing ways of doing things I suppose is half the fun.

Re: Drip, drip

It's very addictive isn't it.

You've got some good shapes going on but yes, the more light the better. Getting your set up outside will help too if you can.

Re: Drip, drip

And honestly...it was a 300mm Tamron macro, on the Sony in the hall, 'cos that was as close as I could focus. The Cree 300 spot/torch hanging from a shower head...Sony set on 12 shots/second burst, and me stretching REALLY FAR so I could drop the dyed milk into the tray in the spot of light with one hand whilst reaching out for the trigger with the other. Sadly the Sony won't trigger burst mode with the IR remote. And getting maybe one shot in 40 that was useable. Then change the dye, change the lighting, wash, rinse (quite literally) and repeat. The hard part is the focus. You have to pre-focus on where you THINK the drop is going to fall and where it is going to splash.

When I've worked out how to do that I'll let you know...it is almost certainly going to involve lots more light so I can stop the lens down and have some DoF...
