LBJ`s

Little Brown jobs, usually warblers some resident and some vagrants to our shores. Scanning through bushes on the coast in Autumn can turn up surprises.

Yellow-browed warbler.,vagrant.

Garden warbler, resident (summer)

Hulmes leaf warbler, vagrant.

Common Whitethroat. resident 9summer.

Common Redpoll, resident.

Pied wheatear, vagrant.

apologies for the images, they tend to turn up in awful weather.

Re: LBJ`s

Are these all this year?! Love the shot of the yellow brow - failed utterly to get any last autumn! Only caught glimpses.

Re: LBJ`s

I'm not really a bird person, but I like shots 3, 4 and 5 Brian. Number 4 is lovely how you have captured the bird singing and 5 is such a detailed beauty.

Re: LBJ`s

Thanks guys, no Laura shots from the past. Things just starting to happen, im off out today to the coast, as things are starting to pass through the county now. Been sea watching of late, nothing special bird wise but did see my first Basking shark, and a pod of White-beacked dolphin.

Thanks for looking.

Re: LBJ`s

We missed the good seawatching this year, would have been 5 ticks if we'd not been in Leeds! Ah well, going to Galley Head on Sunday, so fingers crossed!

Great set.

I've a small Warber of some sort (I can never tell them apart) might even be a chiffchaff as I can never diecide on the legs - that visits just now. I've a pic somewhere which I'll try and find.

Leg colour is not a good way to decide Chiff v Willow Phil as they are so variable, one good way is if the bird flicks its tail downward while feeding, a trait of Chiffchaff, shorter wing length over rump is another, but difficult in the field.

LBJ`s can be right difficult in the field, one of the reasons i took up photography, and the reason for this post..

regards brian.

Aye - it was the leg colour (or failing of supposed method) that left me none the wiser.

I'll find my pics (hope I've not deleted them) and pop them up for opinion
