Yosemite National Park



Thought it about time I posted another picture I took of this amazing place. (Nov2010)

Has to be a landscape photographers paradise

Somewhere I've always fancied visiting.

Number two is my favourite - I like the way the trees frame the cliff/falls.

Have you done something (effect wise) to the first shot ?

This was taken high up in the national park, even though the mountains don't give that impression. In November the air is so clear it makes everything look sharper. Only editing was to lighten up the dark area (tree trunk) and even out the difference between light and dark. Otherwise the scene is as was. I prefer to keep a photo as close to the scene as possible.
We were lucky to even get up that far in the coach, the driver had to put snow chains on the coach to get up the windy snow covered road.

What is so different is quality of natural light, something we don't get over here, at least in the Yosemite National Park. I did have a UV filter on the lens which makes a bit of difference. this video may give a better idea of that last picture
