Miconopy

Old house on Seminary Ave

Shed on a side street...town is one of the oldest in Florida...even before the Spanish explorers came it was the place where the chief of the Timucuan Indians lived. Yesterday the town was full of people so I didn't stay long and went on my cross country drive home...Shirley

Re: Miconopy

I have been to Miconopy before and have photos from then....this time there were too many people in town. That porch on the house seems like typical Florida to me...rarely see a old house without lots of stuff stored on the porch! And wicker chairs as well...this one even has a sleigh! Never enough snow to ever use that in Florida...even few snow flakes is state wide news and a big event...Shirley

Re: Miconopy

No, Apache, I did not have ice cream this trip...I am diabetic and lately I am having big time trouble keeping it in check...no ice cream in my future...last night I had a salad..just greens and it made my BS high..I don't understand what has happened as until a month ago I was under perfect control.
The best ice cream ever is from a small place in Marlette, Michigan...they make it right there at the store...back when...I would drive there..45 miles one way..buy several flavors in gallon containers to stock the freezer at home....even the train that passes about 20 feet from the store stops for ice cream there! Now I wish I had gotten the camera bug a long time ago..so many pictures in my head that I wish were pixals...Shirley
