The Swans

Taken at WWT Arundel a few weeks back, 4 of the 9 known species of Swan.

Images 1 & 2 - Black necked Swan & Cygnet & Black Necked Swan Portrait.

Image 3 - Coscoroba Swan - This is the only living distant relative to the true swan.

Image 4 & 5 - Trumpeter Swan/Cygnet & Trumpeter Swan Portrait

Images 6 & 7 - Whooper Swan & Cygnet

These were all 1st sightings for me. Of course i have left the Mute swan out Think everybody knows what that looks like.

The missing Swans -

Mute, Black, Tundra, Whistling and Bewick.

Some of the images may look washed out, awful lighting that day, a mixture of sunshine and showers. And these were taken trying to dodge the rain clouds.

Re: The Swans

Lovely bit of info on the swans there! Always liked Coscoroba personally, but that shot of the whooper chick is dandy!

Re: The Swans

Thanks Laura. There were 2 Whooper Chicks, this one being a little more scruffier than its sibling As for the Coscoroba`s, i had never heard of them prior to the trip here
