Where do you live?

One of the things I miss with the advent of the web and the new method ocf communication is the lack of physical contact with those of similar interest, especially if you live in a place such as Darwin NT where most photograhers are out chasing storms and crocs.
I have started a threat for people to post a self-portrait so I can at least see how you look.
It would also be nice to see where you live. I don't mean the address. Thats your business. But it would be nice to put a face to a locality; something close to home that might give me a clue to your character. You might live in an interesting street, have a nice village centre close by, be a gypsy living in someone's back paddock, a homeless person living under a cardboard box by the Thames, part of the Royal family, the Pope's concubine, a barge dweller, farmer, soldier, or live in the dungeon at the Tower of London.
Take us for a walk around your 'home' and show us a bit of where and how you live. I'll throw in a few here just to get the process started if you like.

If I step out of my front door there's a path that leads to the local park. It's where I do my morning constitutional.

The lakes are croc free most of the time but there is a need to keep a lookout for snakes, small children and dogs off their lead.

This place offers all sorts of opportunities for the budding photographer to test their skills.
From capturing some of the local wildlife, which is very cooperative in the early ours of the day......

I look forward to going on a walk with you.

Re: Where do you live?

Ok. Seeing as you have asked.

I live in the county of Shropshire, just left of Birmingham as you look at the map of the UK. Although I live out in the sticks, within a fifty mile radius, there has to be some of the most stunning views in England. Best viewed large.

The county town of Shropshire is Shrewsbury,

Where some of the most original architecture can be seen.

We'll start this journey with a train ride.

Hampton Loade, Severn Valley Railway.

To visit magical places.

Where we will stop and picnic in the heart of the English countryside.

Where natural wildlife abound.

Pun intended.

A veritable Toggers paradise.

Re: Where do you live?

What a great thread Tom, I will try and compile a selection of shots that build a picture of my current world, it may take short while, but I will add later.

Fogey, what a great series of shots of a fantastic area.

Re: Where do you live?

Great set of shots, Jeff. I'm on my way to the UK in July and might head down that way now that you have tempted me. Can you hold the weather until then?
Cheers

Re: Where do you live?

You should be OK with the weather in July Tom, although nothing is guaranteed in this country. There is a saying that you know when it's Summer in the UK because the rain is warm.

If you are coming to this neck of the woods, PM me and we'll arrange to meet up. I can then point out some of the best days out for you and maybe even get some togging done myself.
