Re: Framed photos

I like the last two as photos in their own right, the frames dont pull my eye as much away from the subject matter.

Re: Framed photos

I'm afraid I have to agree with Cakey, I'm not looking at the contents of the photos. It would be nice to compare with a set of the photos 'au natural'.

Re: Framed photos

You're a brave photographer to post framed shots on this forum. I deliberately refrain from doing so because of the distain for edge or framing treatments. I often wonder what the negative posters do with finished photos? Do they just post them on the web or keep them on their hard drives?

Re: Framed photos

Very cleaver matching the frame colour with the image. Nicely presented.

Re: Framed photos

Just my opinion but I like some kind of a frame or edge on a photo...should enhance the picture with color and lines that fit the picture. I wouldn't hang a painting up without a frame and photos are also art.
As for comparing the framed photos to the unframed photo, in most of these two or more photos are blended to make the picture...I love doing that...adding something to make a point of interest...Shirley

Well for me Bob my love of the natural world means i like to capture what i see, any alteration to what i capture means i have diluted my image.

But i dont expect others to have my opinions, or consider their opinions to be negative just because they dont agree with mine. Photography is subjective, and there is room for all to show their images as they want. Feedback is personal and i hope we can take it as a genuine expression by the community of YOP.

regards brian.

Re: Framed photos

If you like them, that's what matters! I'm not a fan of frames personally, but you have chosen colours well to fit the photos - so in that sense the frames are sympathetic to the shots.

Personally, the ones I print out I frame if I want them on my wall. I make cards with some, I sell some... I have no problem with framing - but I like *real* frames, so a printed image with a sympathetic real frame, rather than a digital frame.
