Green Woodpecker

It started out bad today it was raining and the light levels was low, I didn't even plan to take the camera out, A short time after it stopped raining, i saw this Woodpecker digging in the lawn, so it turned out to be a good day after all.

Re: Green Woodpecker

Well done, as Fogey said an elusive bird. I usually hear them first as they are retreating at speed. Very clear shots.

Re: Green Woodpecker

Nice woodpecker shots, something that I have been trying to get myself...on one of my walks we have LS woodpeckers, GS woodpeckers and green woodpeckers....but none of them will let me close enough.

Thanks richardf They certainly are, it has taken ages for me to get a reasonable shot at this guy, they seem quite good at sensing movement
