Trying out my new Nikon 35mm prime (and loving it)

Superbly sharp by the look of it. Can't beat a very good prime lens.

Zooms are very good but there has to be compromises made in the design of them. Primes being much simpler to design and manufacture demand less compromises.

Bit like audio really, the less the signal is mucked about with the truer the sound. S it is with primes, less bending and elements for the light to negotiate results in a truer image.
