When two side come together

Taken with a canon 50mm 1.4 @ 2.8
1 x SB80 bare with a blue & purple gel attached to light the glasses in the BG and a SB80 in a 28" softbox @ camera left to light the chess pieces.

Like how that tells a story Jonni!

The only thing I'd do different if revisiting it I'd get the white King to face more to the left - so they look like they're looking at the 'lights'/world go by

Thanks Azz.
I have that shot but it looked (to me) like they were looking at the camera. I also have a shot with king facing the queen more. I just thought this looked best.

I shall add another edit later. I'm going to be doing more shots like this as I like the bokeh. Any tips before I start creating more?

Another great idea Jonni, i love the colours of the soft background, did you use a snoot or was the light source fairly close to the BG?
