Getting to know YOu! - mandmphoto
When did you get into photography ?
I have always had my camera with me where ever I went. But I thought I would try and make some extra money with it about 2006.
Why the continued interest in photography ?
One reason is because I really want to be able to create beautiful images and to be creative with them. But most importantly because it's your life's story.
Your first camera ?
It was a Sony with a cool swivel lens. I honestly don't remember the model.
Your current kit - views ?
I have bits and pcs. I have a Canon 30D and a Canon 50D with the following lenses; 28-135mm, 58mm portrait, 60mm macro, 300mm.
Your favourite subject and why ?
This may sound wierd but I don't really have a favorite because I haven't honeslty mastered anyone of them yet. However, I really do like to do maternity. There is just something about momma and baby that just speaks volumes to me.
Your dream location / assignment ?
I have always wanted to be on the sidelines of a NFL football game!
Kit you couldn't live without ?
I really couldn't live without my 58mm portrait and my macro lens now that I have them.
Kit you would like to have ?
Not necessarily a kit but a full frame sensor-ed camera.
Most useless kit ?
My tri-pod kit...just because I don't make myself use it more!!
What constitutes a great image ?
One that tells a great story or that triggers memories and that is a conversation starter whether its a snap shot or a perfect image.
An Iconic Image ?
For me maybe one of mine that is published somewhere for the world to see.
Photography pet hate ?
Other photographers who really think that they are above all and they can't seem to remember back when they started.
Photography ambitions ?
I want to take beautiful shots vs a snap.
Your YoP wishes ?
Keep on teaching! I really love the small group that I have been connected with since joining. I also think that the "HOW TO" guides that are on the home page should be brought back to life. This was and is a fantastic way for someone like me who is trying to improve their skills.
Any other passions ?
My family. I know that sounds a bit off but I love spending time with my husband. He has so many great ideas regarding photography shots and we love doing what we can to get out there and try them. We also volunteer and rehab squirrels (mostly) for Wildlife Rehab Center. Being able to release them after taking care of them for a minimum of 3 months just really makes you feel good inside.
