Re: First set (bar one) with the new teleconverter lens

Nice images ........Whats your kit Richard..Camera & lens you are using with the tele converter?? Looks like you are going to have fun with your new bit of kit. The only downside is image noise, not a major issue though, probably got ISO cranked up due to it being dull adding to noise.

Couldnt send those Goldfinches our way could you???

Re: First set (bar one) with the new teleconverter lens

Panasonic Lumix FZ 45 with 1.7 teleconverter lens. Not the brightest of afternoons and the birds were a bit skittish today darting here there and everywhere. Not top of the range kit by any means, quite basic, but I'm just a beginner finding my feet and still getting to grips with technical things, very slowly I might add.

Re: First set (bar one) with the new teleconverter lens

I think i asked you in another post about your kit, sorry, brain is like a sponge
Not the best lighting at the moment out there, most of the time my settings are cranked up at 1600 ISO, much higher than i would like to use. A converter would be my next piece of kit, although if i bought one for the 500d i would have to use the lens manually as i believe i could only use AF on a full frame camera.
Look forward in seeing more photos from your set up in the near future

Re: First set (bar one) with the new teleconverter lens

Hey Richard

You've done well, it looks like the new converter is doing the trick. It's always very difficult when the light is poor, you will also find that your shots will look even sharper in the sunlight because of the increased micro contrast.

Well done on a nice series of shots.

Re: First set (bar one) with the new teleconverter lens

I don't even go out in this sort of light any more - not done anything with the camera in what feels like weeks!

These are not at all bad considering the conditions, and that it's new to you keep it up - it's lovely to be able to get closer to them isn't it?

Nice one Richard. These are very good even if the weather was dull. The goldfishes are nice and sharp. If that's handheld you have a steadier hand than me.
