Mrs Robin?

Got a bit bored this morning so went out into the garden and fetched in the bird feeder to give it a wash. After putting it back full of fresh seed it got mobbed by sparrows.

But then I noticed this other bird in the bushes. The light was poor and this was shot through the kitchen window, so not as sharp as I would have liked.

Is this Mrs Robin?:

Re: Mrs Robin?

It's a lovely shot of a Dunnock Ken.

Ususally ground feeders that will enjoy the spilled seeds. They can be quite secretive litle birds and will often nip in and out of the undergrowth to feed.

Re: Mrs Robin?

Old fashioned name is the Hedge Sparrow Ken, in fact its not a Sparrow at all its correct name is the Hedge accentor, it was a digiscoped image of one of these that got me started in photography

Thanks Mark, the double glazing does no favours for good camera optics

Thanks for the detail Brian, I appreciate it, also thanks for sharing how you got started, if I'm honest, I can't remember the exact subject matter that got me started in photography, other than the whole taking & developing film thing

You will have seen thousands hopping about Cakey. Lots of people think they are boring and drab but they have a lovely wee call.
