I love Pied Wagtails.

'Lonesome Robin' is my favourite though.

Hello Carol. Welcome

Is the last one a grass bird or a reed bird as I see both

Love the bokeh in the good shot of the Robin.

Dave you must be doing well to see 2 birds in the last image ........Only 1 there as far as a know, and its not a bird that spends its time in the reeds.......I could hardly see the Robin Dave, the sun was so bright through the trees, but then that gave it the nice Bokeh

Yup sounds like you found it Cakey, you were close with the name too ....lol not really :P

I love the back lighting and BG blur of the Robin shot.

I can see I need to take a leaf out of your book and take a walk around some lakes, I've not had any birds in the back garden for ages

Re: Wilstone, Marsworth, Tringford, Startops end Res and College Lake

I can see the bird in the last shot but it's too far away for me to ID - it's too small in the image, can you crop closer perchance?

The 'Water Pipit' looks to be a Rock Pipit Water Pipits are rare migrants - very hard to tell from Rock Pipits indeed - even a lot of good birders would find it rather difficult. It *could* be a Water Pipit - but to be honest, we've sort of passed the season for seeing them much (though it's still possible) - but I always assume that it's a Rock Pipit unless told otherwise!
