Stockers Lake

A visit down to Stockers lake today in Rickmansworth, Herts. Shame i did not manage to go yesterday whilst it was Sunny as it was a little grey today and spent time dodging the rain drops.
Here are just a few bird images from today. Some regulars and some new ones for me. I have to apologize as i cannot seem to identify all of them, and if anybody could any i have missed or identified wrong i would be very grateful

(1) Canada Goose

(2) Coot

(3) Coots

(4) Think this is a Cormorant. Funny watching them swimming through the water, as if they are really weighted down, only the top of the body showing.

(5) Great Crested Grebe

(6) Not sure what these ducks are. Look like Gadwalls but please do not quote me on that

(7) Mallard

(8) A Pair of Tufted Ducks

(9) Grey Heron

(10) Mute Swan

(11) Crow

(12) Robin

(13) Sparrow

(14) Blue Tit - Was some distance away from the Tits so struggled to get a good image

(15) Thought this might be a Blue Tit but was hard to tell as i was almost underneath him and could not see his head properly. Black on breast a little wide compared to blue tit though so honestly have not got a clue

(16) Havent a clue what this is, was in a field near the Grand union Canal, thought it was a moorhen at 1st but beak is not right.

Re: Stockers Lake

Thanks Cakey. Thought i would spend a little longer there today and walked around Stockers, Bury Lake and partly around Springwell Lake, also onto the Grand Union at Stockers lock....Expected the place to be teaming with birds, there was quite a few but not as many as i would of hoped, but also the lakes are quite big so may look small numbers if spread out. Was hoping to put my lens through its paces too but struggled with it being overcast and occasionally rainy, only when we were leaving did the sun finally show its face, typical.

Re: Stockers Lake

Nice Mark. I like the sparrow best.

I've been corrected a few times for rivers like pic 3 running downhill like that

Re: Stockers Lake

Haha had not noticed Dave, think i had 2 takes on this one, and posted wrong one......

The Sparrow allowed me to get quite close to him, a lot closer that i can get at home. It is also one of my favorite images of all the birds i imaged today too I was disappointed with the Blue Tits, there were lots around but a lot of inconsiderate people on their Sunday walks kept scaring them off.......

I do not know Fishers green Cakey, might be worth a visit sometime though if i could find my way there, or more correctly, the missus can find her way there as i do not drive
