These were done using my 50mm f1.8. Other equipment includes my trusty tripod! lol my shutter remote, black bed sheet and my studio lights (i have 2 Bowens flash guns one with a soft box the other with umbrella, and my canon 430EX flash on the camera which i want to change to a erm.. can't remember what its called lol but something instead of the flash so my lights still go off lol!!) to get the catch light in the eyes. I shot them both in the B&W setting on the camera as that was the look i was going for but as i was shooting in RAW i had a look at the guitar one in colour and reduced the saturation a little. The black and white image i upped the contrast a tiny bit to bring out the reflection in the eyes more

great idea with the black bed sheet !will it work with white ? just thinking i could use it with still life, it a great way of saving money lol

i've used white sheets before but now i have A0 size white plastic card which James brings home from work. Also a great tip i was given by KK was to use the shiny side of photopaper
