Shuttleworth Evening Air Show Aug2011

Well a very long and busy day out and about yesterday, we decided to go and spend the day at Shuttleworth, never been before, and i must say a very good day out for the family.

We started off having a wander around the The Birds of Prey Centre there, its one of the biggest BOP wildlife centres in the country, a must visit for any bird enthusiast.
As they have 2 flying shows there 3 hours apart it gave us time to take in the Midday display and then have a walk around the Shuttleworth Display, lunch and back to the 2nd display at the BOP centre at 3pm, where they usually fly a different set of birds.
Finally 4.45pm they started the evening show off by showing off some of the older vehicles, driving them up and down the runway and then the air display starting at 5.30. If you love your old planes then this is the place to visit.
There are also gardens, called Swiss Gardens here.

Anyway, to the photos, this is a very small collection of photos of the show for the day, in total 659 photos were taken by myself, and maybe 500 worth keeping

A great series of shots Mark, shot 4 (Bristol) could do with slightly slower shutter speed to give a bit of prop blur, but you have done a great job with catching these wonderful planes, some great low pass shots too.

I was there last weekend and meant to go to this event also, but had a few choirs to do

Ive tried Ken, but i cannot quite work out what the settings of the camera need to be at, once i got down lower than 1/500 the images became very washed out and i was not able to do anything with the originals. As it started to go dark though i was able to set camera at 1/60 and 1/30, prop blur became more apparent but then rest of image was dark, even with the flashgun on.

I did not know the airshow was on until Friday, we had been planning to go to Shuttleworth on the Saturday, just so we could do the BOP centre and the collection, and then noticed on website about the evening display, so that was a bonus really
