Re: A strawberry picker.

Reminds me of when we used to go strawberry picking - like kids in a sweetshop! good photos that will make for lovely memories when he's older.

Ps I think you were right about hitting the like button when you're short for time and then coming back to comment - I hadn't even thought of that but that's what happened here lol

Re: A strawberry picker.

Thanks for the comments and yes I feel the like button will work for me anyway.

Sometimes I ponder on what I am going to say.

Re: A strawberry picker.

Jols, I'm a bit undecided about this treatment on many of your current pictures. I think this set is a great idea, and can understand the idea of the colour... a la dreamy 70's Flake advert but I think it would improve with a softer dreaminess about it... and probably the strawberries would look good as big red strawberries, not sort of paler versions. The picking/searching pictures could be improved with more strawberries and colour on show so we see where he is...

Now the thing is, it is only my opinion and of course I am looking at it as a set of pictures, lacking the emotion and memory that those pictures mean to you with your son. You remember it with the sights and smells, and the time with your boy. As I and others have said before, picky and opinionated picture critiques aside, you are capturing a great set of memories for your son in years to come that few of us probably have.

Re: A strawberry picker.

Thanks for all the comments.

BC your comments are always detailed well thought out and helpful. I am practising different types of ps techniques and really having fun doing so. I find some of the techniques work for me on the day and when I look back in a few days time I am not so sure, but that is the fun of it.

I have learnt a lesson though and opting for different techniques I have trained myself to keep the original, which I was always guilty of not doing [for personal pics not weddings lol].

I was always an adcocate of getting it spot on in camera but having purchased a few books on photoshop and the magic of you tube I am coming over to the dark side, doing my best in camera and then working the magic with photoshop.

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to comment.

Re: A strawberry picker.

I think these are good - the last one especially is lovely What I'd like to see you try though, is this treatment, with a bit of the colour put back in to the strawberries (pretty much full colour), and less put in to the face, but still a bit more backed off the treatment you've applied. I think that would work well
