Both great - lovely expressions caught. Though it has more background distractions etc, I think the first has a certain something

I like the first....but...(oh no, here we go! )...that runner in the background. If only you could have banged off two frames... Both are lovely shots for the family album, but although your son is your highlight in the second, photographically speaking, his face is in shadow and doesn't dominate the image over the other distractions. Good captures though, as I once said to Moonie, some kids are dead lucky their parents are photographers and will have great pictures to look back on when they are older. x
