Pink Orchid

For some reason I'm not so keen on this shot, but I can't put my finger on exactly why. I'm not sure if it's the white frame or composition, or a bit of both. Having said that though I'm not sure how I would have done it differently either, sorry.

Hi Ken, thanks for your comments, I was hoping someone would critique this shot. The blooms were not arranged in any way but the crop was to try and bring some symmetry to the image. On reflection, I doesn't work. Perhaps the background colour is the problem, it does nothing to compliment the flowers.

I know what Ken is referring to here. I haven't anything good or bad to say about the composition, color, exposure or interest. I don't want to be negative when I say that it's a colorful snapshot but that's my first impression.

With reference to my earlier post, I said I wasn't sure how I would go about this shot. But I have an idea!

I'm going to try something out tonight or tomorrow to see if it works. Watch this space to see if works or not, either way it should be fun and kill a bit of time

I like the composition. Might not be 'typical' but the symmetry of the central and four corner blooms kind of works.

The pink against the orange does clash though.

You're probably right regarding the background but the flowers themselves are really good and detailed.
