Really hoping I've cracked it!

These aren't my dogs, but I took these while on a walk yesterday. I'm happy with them...but nervously sharing as I know I always get at least one thing wrong...hoping I've finally cracked it with the composition and exposure, light in the eyes and at the dog's level...

Please tell me if either of both dogs are any good/which you prefer/don't like any why As always I'm keen to learn.

These are SOOC (although have been uploaded to FB so may have lost some quality) They were taken on my Panasonic TZ8.

Re: Really hoping I've cracked it!

Exposure wise they're great.

At first I thought they were a bit soft but once you click on them they're fine.

You've caught some lovely expressions and number 2 shouts Border Collie.

Those look really good!!!!!! Only thing for me, the coat and the collars and harness distract. I appreciate though, it may not always be possible to remove them.

Re: Really hoping I've cracked it!

Sharpened slighly and uploaded to Imageshack, maybe it would be better for you than photobucket?

Thank you I'm relieved they're all right, I felt like they were, but I didn't know.

Thank you I'm glad you think it's an improvement, I thought they were better, but can never tell what others think. I've been doing my best to take on board all the helpful comments from people like yourself

Thank you very much I know what you mean, sometimes I get a shot I like, but Axel is off-lead so has his muzzle on. I agree it would look cleaner without the equipment.

I use Facebook. Is Imageshack much different to photobucket in how you use it? Do you have albums, etc? I like the slight sharpening, looks better

Re: Really hoping I've cracked it!

These are really good especially the second BC image and the last pic of the Greyhound . Such elegant dogs, and you've captured that really well. Agree with Phil that no2 screams BC.

You've really captured them well

Re: Really hoping I've cracked it!

Technically perfect BG. Nicely exposed and well focused. I wont comment on the subjects themselves or your crops as I feel this should come after you are producing consistent well exposed shots, as it could become overwhelming considering your still learning, but it is something you could take into consideration next time you shoot. x
