Sparrowhawk
Captured this earlier today, couldnt quite make out what it was at first as it was about 30' away, and it was very dull-overcast. I was not going to bother trying to get a pic at first, because of the time it would take to set up, then it would be off, but this one was sitting there quite happily preening his feathers and so, looked quite relaxed. So, I set up my camera quickly and fired off some shots. Turned out not to bad considering it was shot through a dirty double glazed window. Here is some of the data. 40d + 400mm f5.6 L + 1.4 II teleconverter. f8.0, 1/60Sec, ISO 400, Exposure Compensation -1/3, Manual focus.

Stunning DJV. I'm a huge lover of predatory birds 
We get quite a few Sparrowhawks here, but none that has ever landed in the garden
