Self Portrait

I haven't practiced with my Bowens lights for a while so as i had caught up on a lot of things i had time this morning to play.

Bowens lights - Soft box left and umbrella right. Canon 5D mkII, Canon 24-70mm f2.8 and 580ex flash gun bounced off the ceiling.

Edit in photoshop to clean up skin and add in wooded background and snow, I also changed the colour of the hood from forest green to the same colour as my top..

I still have my kit set up so i will probably shoot again later as i am not happy with my hands. I need to try and hold the hood up a bit more girly (which just isn't me! LOL) I also changed the colour of the hood from forest green to the same colour as my top.

It is the first shot i have ever taken of me without major edit of my shape... been on a diet since August and have lost 3 dress sizes!! woohooo! 1 more to go!!

Re: Self Portrait

Very interesting photo Sammy. You have captured your lovely eyes perfectly. I'd like to see a tighter crop just on your face.

Re: Self Portrait

Sammy, the PP is very nice and I like the concept. The lighting is nice and smooth too I would though, look at your skin tones, as they are on the red side and dont match the overall cold feel of the image. Also with the snow, it may be worth while trying a slight motion blur, for a feel of movement xx

Re: Self Portrait

I think my lights are gathering dust in the garage these days. I've moved towards natural light, but man I miss them! x
