HDR Cannon at Edinburgh Castle

Hi thought I would post this it is a single shot HDR looking down one of the cannons to the Scot Monument. I know some people do not like HDR but it would not do if we were all the same now. Would it, so here is my effort
hope someone likes it.

Cheers

Re: HDR Cannon at Edinburgh Castle

The stonework has come out brilliantly. However, what lets the photo down, in my view, is the haloing around the canon.

I don't know what package you used, but there is one here that I have found exceptionally good.

Re: HDR Cannon at Edinburgh Castle

Really nice processing, as for the halo I can't see one only see shadow around the cannon, looks like caused by flash?

Re: HDR Cannon at Edinburgh Castle

Hi folks yes the shadow was caused by the flash. As this is a single shot RAW
file done in Photomatix Pro 3. I find that if I use a single file I do not get the over saturation and cartoon look that i get when I use 7 exposures.

Glad you like it Gordon

Re: HDR Cannon at Edinburgh Castle

Nice shot Goggs - great viewpoint.

I'm not spotting much in the way of halo issues but I do think there's a few patches of over cooked blue/purple on the cannon.

My screen is naff though so it may not be the case.

Thanks Phil. there is a small bit of blue on the cannon. I think it is due to only using one RAW file and the process is pushing the single RAW to the edge of its limits. I think ......
