Re: Reflecting On A Sunny Day

Lovely shot Ste - I like the movement in the clouds.. and would probably like to see a longer exposure with even more movement - think it would suit it well.

You seem to have some dust on your lens btw (top right)

Re: Reflecting On A Sunny Day

Was 30 sec exposure Azz, longest I could get. Trade off, any wind to get clouds moving and the water would lose the reflections!

Missed the dust spot, thanks. On the sensor though not the lens

Re: Reflecting On A Sunny Day

Very nice exposure Ste. I was wondering how you were able to blur the clouds until you explained the 30 second exposure time. i love reflections in water and the saturation of color with that longer exposure. Why the limit to 30 second exposures?

Re: Reflecting On A Sunny Day

Used a 10stop ND Bob, and with f/16 30 secs was the right shutter speed to get the exposure.

Past f/16 and sharpness starts to go a little, and my plan is always to take shots i can print big.

Re: Reflecting On A Sunny Day

Do you save printable shot in Tiff format Ste? I don't create many huge prints but do have that capabilty using Genuine Fractals software from OnOne Software right here in Portland, OR. I've been using that photoshop plugin for 15 years since its inception.

Re: Reflecting On A Sunny Day

I keep everything! Since starting to shoot raw about 6 months ago, keep the raw a processed raw as a tiff and final version as a jpeg.

Print big maybe misleading, I only print usually at 18 or 16x12 inches. However have some stuff on the wall a LOT bigger lol, but have left upscaling to print company so don't have plug ins you mentioned. Firm I used utilise genuine fractals i think.

Re: Reflecting On A Sunny Day

My biggest print was done by MPIX.com and was professionally matted & framed. The print itself was 18x22 and hangs on my bedroom wall above my bed.

Re: Reflecting On A Sunny Day

LOVE how clear and colourful the reflections are! It's a really lovely picture. I'm no pro and can't find the spot on the lens, so looks flawless to me
