Wolf Hybrid

I had the pleasure of meeting this stunning wolfdog this weekend, she had a bad start being kept in less than ideal conditions, but now she lives in a much more suitable environment with others in a pack, where she will stay for the rest of her life. She's a F1 cross, and TBH had the sweetest nature, she decides if she wants to get to know you, and then she is a big cuddlemonster.

Sadly, while it is still legal in parts of the States to both breed and keep wolves as pets, and then cross them with dogs, she won't be the last Anyway, even though these aren't brilliant as a lot of the time I had my camera put away, I managed to get a few when we were avoiding the sun. There will be more to come over time, of both wolves, and wolfdogs.

Re: Wolf Hybrid

She is pretty

What is she crossed with Moonie? German Shepherd?

I'm glad she has found a good responsible home. Look forward to more pictures.

She is very pretty and once she has sussed you out, total flirt OMG the eyes!!!!!!

Yes, German Shepherd, which you can see in her face at times, her body though is wolf, especially her coat, no black saddle like most crosses. GSD and Malamute are the two most common breeds that these breeders cross with . I met a Malamute/wolf, absolutely massive, looked very malamute, but acted much more wolfy . That is part the problem with crossing them with dogs, you can get high content wolf dogs, that look like dogs, but act like wolves, and then lower content that look wolf but act like dog. So, you could end up with a "pet" in your home that is mostly wolf

Learnt a lot, also, convinced me more than ever, that people need to stop messing around with wolves, and dogs, or trying to create a wolfdog.

Yes, she has a much better home now, in a huge enclosure with other wolfdogs, better than being chained up all day in a back yard There are several packs, two packs which are wolves, that have been rescued from people's homes

Re: Wolf Hybrid

She looks lovely Moonie - nice shots

But I do wish silly people would stop breeding wild animals into domesticated pet dogs!

Re: Wolf Hybrid

i must admit i would love to have one and if only domestic dogs would look like that but its a wolf and can be very dangerous due to there "pack order" behaviour and a high prey drive.

Your shots are always stunning, and i envy it alot of the time i love the smile on the second to last one

Re: Wolf Hybrid

No, they don't make good pets for most people, and there are some very wolfy type dogs already in looks and behaviour, without breeding wolf dogs :/ you see them advertised in local magazines, and it really pees me off, which is why I wanted to get involved and help.

Thanks Haylee xxx

Re: Wolf Hybrid

We have all these crosses in this country that they say have wolves in them. THat must be blooming hard because I would think the person in Scotland is letting all these dogs use their wolves. Their temperaments from what I can see lead a lot to be desired and aren't what I wd. want in a dog.

Just wish that people would improve on breeds already out there than trying to mess about and do crossbreeds.

Nice shots though but the way

Re: Wolf Hybrid

Lovely girl but such a shame people breed them without thinking about where they may end up. It sounds as though she has landed on her feet now though
