Re: A woodland walk

Mannytkd

The border looks a bit "heavy", they overpower the picture. To be honest I think I would prefer the pictures without borders. Have to say apart from my comments I do like the pictures you put up , its just my personal preference that I would display them differently.

Re: A woodland walk

I agree with Bazza about the borders, and I don't feel there's enough black or white to warrant these being in mono - I think they may look better in colour or muted tones? Having said that, I think number 2 is a pleasing image!

Re: A woodland walk

Normally I'd agree about the border - but think it works well on these, great work

I add this type of bordfer to all my images to allow me to allow me to add my copyright and name, you either like it or not and i won't change what i've been doing for a long long time.

Re: A woodland walk

If you're happy with it that's fine! I know some of the images I use my border on don't please people either, but it won't deter me from using them for what I use them for, because I'm happy with them. I do think these borders would work better if there was more black and white in the images though, and if they were more contrasty.

Re: A woodland walk

Hi Karl, generally I like to attach borders, I think they finish a picture. My personal preference with landscapes though is colour as colour is often the magical element, I'm sure the autumn colours in these pictures would be very pleasing. In these though, I like the compostitions and textures, especially #2.

Re: A woodland walk

Agree with the others about colour..it can really 'pop those grassy textures.

Lovely shots though.

Re: A woodland walk

In the first photo, because of the B&W, my eye wanders all over the frame looking for a central theme. There doesn't seem to be one. I usually reserve B&W to show mood, texture or drama. There's not enough contrast in the first photo to evoke any of those emotions.
