My Dad

Here is another of my Dad, he was receiving a trophy, but Im not sure what for!!

Eileen, small image but very nice, it tells part of his story during his time fighting for his country.

You obviously have a few photographs of your dad from his time in the war. Do you have any text written on the back of the photographs to make any identification of where they were taken and who else was in them?

Yes Nigel on the back was written "Fort Geoge"or something like that, might be a mispelt place, as it was in my mother's Handwriting!! Will have another look though!

Fort George is just ouside Inverness Eileen, it's where the Black Watch do their basic training.

Eileen, the reason for the question was that Fort George is just 5 miles from my home. Have you done any further research into Fort George and your fathers army service?

Thanks Nigel, No I have not looked into it before as I was not sure of the location at all! As I said it was my Mother how had written on the back and had spelt the location! But now I know I will look it up, thanks to Nero and yourself!
