The dastardly duo

Thought I should follow general forum netiquette and whack some photos up for you guys to pick apart..I mean, give some constructive criticism on These were just some quick snaps I took on a walk so I wasn't paying major attention to composition etc but feel free to suggest away

(I really wish I'd not centered this one but the others I got with better composition weren't focused very well)

Re: The dastardly duo

Hi and welcome.

The first thing is lose the harnesses/collars, they are very distracting. Both are a little under exposed for me, but "blacks" are not easy to get right. Both gorgeous dogs and look forward to seeing more of them.

Re: The dastardly duo

I never mind harnesses and collars! I think they make some dogs! I always like seeing Duds in his bright red collar - it's like it's part of him! I also daren't take Portia's off - or she'd be gone for the hills!

Re: The dastardly duo

Good start with this post. Best to be comfortable with your initial subjects. Not to worry as you'll learn how to judge your light source and position yourself to optimize the light. Also there's alway post processing that can improve your photos. Here's an example of improving lighting that coming from the wrong direction.
