Re: Last Panners Of The Year...

Your compositions are great, and are usually always pin sharp, but you need to work harder on your editing.

It seems no matter whether your shooting a moving subject or a static object, your main focal points almost always seem to have a halo or glow around them from your PP work, and these three images are no different, which is a shame because for me at least, the glow takes away from what would otherwise have been a nice little set of images, and one that is technically very difficult to do.

Re: Last Panners Of The Year...

Yep 3 sisters.

It's called a vignette, used in photography to send the eye in a particular way in the shot. These are intentionally at the degree they are, whole point of a vignette is to highlight the main subject.

There is no issue creating a "halo" your comments about my lack of pp skills are frankly so far off the mark I almost couldn't be bothered to reply.

Re: Last Panners Of The Year...

Another nice set.

The first is a Kevin Burton built Team UFO bike.

As for the halo comments - I can see a slightly lighter patch around the front of the first bike and around the rider in the second. I didn't spot them till MD had mentioned it and I'm not even sure it isn't just difference is track / grass tones behind.

Well I'm glad you mustered up enough energy for a reply. I'm honoured. Especially since you have the C&C box ticked...or is that just for people to tell you how good the shots are, rather than have someone point out any flaws that may actually be of benefit to you?

Firstly, I know exactly what a vignette is, and what it's for. I've just never seen a motorbike shaped vignette before, or a lighthouse shaped vignette, or a bridge shaped vignette...etc.
If these are indeed set to the level you wanted, then please accept the fact that it won't appeal to everyone, and having the C&C box ticked entitles me to offer my opinion to you without the " I almost couldn't be bothered replying " attitude in return.

And secondly...Azz...my monitor is fine. When I mentioned that it must be faulty in a previous post, I was actually being sarcastic.

But do you know what Stan?....I take it back. Your pictures are perfect.
I don't know what I was thinking.

Thanks again for replying though.
