Sparrowhawk

We saw this sparrowhawk swoop down on a blackbird right outside our kitchen window, so I grabbed the camera and took this snap through the glass just before it flew off again.

Beautiful bird! shame about the blackbird but its nature! You were lucky to get that shot of it

Fantastic. We sometimes get them in our garden but sadly never when my camera's to hand.

He's got his eye on you I think !

Funny you should say that Phil, as this particular bird flies quite close to me when I'm mowing the field on my tractor and is often sitting on a branch watching. Although he's really just learned that mowing disturbs all sorts of tasty morsels!

Incidentally, that blackbird survived as it was small enough to get between the branches

Wel done Nick, birds are very twichy, they don't keep still for long, you must've been quick off the mark to capture that one.
