Totally agree, some amazing images, I love HDR when it's done well and subtly , think it works really well with buildings and some landscapes, not very keen on it when used in portraiture.

Thanks Dawn

Re: If you like HDR, then look at these..

I don't like HDR but thought I'd have a look anyway as comments above seemed to suggest natural/normal looking images. No such luck, just the same old cartoon like, over saturated and vomit inducing junk that are excuses for photographs. I t is graphic art IMO and nothing to do with photography, or, in other words, crap photography converted to cartoons

Re: If you like HDR, then look at these..

I think the images are interesting but me too, i hate this completely artificial looking stuff that could as well be a illustration. It has it's place but there is nothing subtle about those images.

Opinion divided I guess.

I can see the attraction and there's no doubt that they make very striking images but perhaps not for the purist.

Re: If you like HDR, then look at these..

I've toyed with HDR recently and feel there are some wonderful applications where, when used tastefully, it can produce brilliant photos. I don't like extreme garish examples which are so prevalent. In my attempts I strived to leave the viewer guessing whether it's an HDR image at all.

Very many of us use multiple exposures or layers to attain a better overall exposure. We enhance the sky or foreground. We blur the background and try and call it bokeh. Image manipulation is here to stay. To each his own. You can take any image and ask 50 people what they think and get 50 different opinions. I've said this before in similar posts, all that matters is that the person taking the photograph likes it.

Pleased you liked them Grant. Posted another link that may interest you a little more. Im not keen on HDR but I do appreciate that there is an "art" to it, and for that I do like looking at such images.

Re: If you like HDR, then look at these..

Some are over the top , but some of those are stunning images, don't think the better ones are cartoonish though. Each to their own, boring of we all liked the same.
