FalkirkSteeple struck by lightning (1927)
This is a pic I found in an old book, the steeple was struck in 1927 the only injuries incurred were to a poor horse hit by falling masonry.
Newmarket street 1913, just out of frame where the horse cart is on the right was the cattle mart, all the drovers from the highlands used to bring their cattle/sheep here for auction. Note the tram lines, Falkirk had an extensive tram system in those days.
