Magazines?

ok so am looking for a photography magazine, a good one with lots of good pictures and photography techniques. I bought one ignorning the fact it had in association with canon on it and started reading everything in there is canon even the bloody camera reviews. It was the digital photography wildlife and landscape one.

anyway i was wondering if you lot could recommend me some, i want a nikon and currently have a sony but would like a diverse range of reviews but more consentrated on photography techniques

so any ideas?

Re: Magazines?

I would check any of the top sellers out personally tbh H, as their editorials will differ and you will most like prefer one over the other.

I used to be a serial magazine buyer - but not any more, I pretty much get all my info off the web now

Re: Magazines?

I like paper in my hand... I buy magazines that have the articles I want. If you watch them you will see they all follow a pattern. Over a year they all run similar articles but at different times... 'shoot landscapes', 'next month 'measure exposure like a pro', next 'outdoor portraits'...'shoot autumn colours' etc. Some magazines have sister publications and they just share stuff. I don't buy magazines every month, but sometimes two look interesting, sometimes none... After a while you will see they just repeat stuff... There are no dedicated Nikon magazines on the shelf although I get the Pro User mag at work.

Re: Magazines?

If you're thinking of magazines as a source of educational material why not go to the source. I subscribe to Kelby training online. I'm also a NAAP member. These two sources provide everything I want to know about photography as well as editing, printing & shooting. This is my second year with them & I don't regret a minute. If you carry a laptop/netbook Amazon.com as a free Kindle for pc download that you can use anywhere to read magazines and books. You can even turn the pages the same as paper versions.

Re: Magazines?

Digital DSLR user, Practical Photography, and another one I've forgotten I used buy in the UK. Now it's American Photo, and Rangefinder. TBH if something catches my eye I will buy it, but all practical knowledge you can get online, but I do like a nice, new, shiny magazine.
