Re: A bit of colour

Yeah, someone that likes bright colors. Very nice set Haylee. My only advice is to try offsetting your main subject away from dead center. For a proclaimed beginner these are really good.

On the entry page to YO there are courses you can take for free to help your photographic skills. That's a good way to get started. Composition happens to be top on that list.

Examples:

Always ask yourself in the final composition where your eyes are drawn to and what is your main object of interest. If these two answers are the same you have a pleasing composition. This can be accomplised in a number of ways. Take the course on composition and tell us what you think. Keep shooting.

Re: A bit of colour

I nice set with lovely colours.
I agree that the composition on these could be improved - either in camera or by cropping.
The rule of thirds is a good starting point.
We can't comment on your focus as your uploading is softening your pictures.
The colours are good but I think some tweaking would give them more ooomph. Number 1 particularly looks a little cool at the moment and would benefit with some PP to warm it up.

Re: A bit of colour

I love number two.

The softness could be helped by uploading through flickr.

Also have a look at flickr for ideas,,,,,,,,,just type in a certain flower and bob's your uncle.....
