I like the tones of number 1, though I'd be tempted to crop a little off the top.
How/where are you uploading? I find that Flickr is good for keeping the sharpness.

and am uploading from facebook because am lazy! am needing to resign better watermarks due to facebooks terms and conditions with the damn images!

LOL I have to chuckle because this thread demonstrates how everyone has a different idea of what they like. I like the first two photographs the best. I'd try selective sharpening on the eye only in the first photo. There are lots of folks on YO that are exceptional at bird photography, certainly not me. I see through your early posts that you have great potential. Keep shooting.

P.S. - For ease on comments please try numbering the photos if you're going to post more than two so we can easily refer to specific photos. Thanks

Ahh that explains the softness! Facebook does awful things to photos!
I resize and over sharpen any of my pictures that will be going on facebook.
