Re: New Camera! at last!!! Fuji S5 pro

S5 Pro is a great camera for dynamic range. My friend has one for wedding photography and most people consider it great for weddings and portraits etc. Most of the Nikon accessories fit too. Ideal.

I am (I think) just about to sell my Sigma 24-70 f2.8 (non HSM) which I consider to be a very good lens. It's a good copy, unmarked optically, vgc. case and box. if you think you may be interested send me a PM. i'm yet to price it up. I am off to work now but will likely be on later.

Even if you don't get mine I would recommend it. The only reason i am changing is because i really wanted a Nikon 24-70 but due to economies have settled with the older 28-70. The Nikons have better performance wide open and at f4, but once past there, the Sigma improves rapidly and i did most of my shooting at around f5.6. On a crop format you can hardly see this, but on a D700 it does make a difference if you look. If most of your shots are f5.6 or smaller the Sigma makes a lot of sense for a numerous reasons, size, weight, value, quality etc. I am almost tempted to keep it for a lighter kit bag. The D700, and an obligation for quality lenses has taken the size and weight of my bag up considerably.

Would be good to see some shots of that S5.
