Re: Im blogging!

This is not a critiscm, just genuinely curious, why do people write blogs? I don't write one because I wouldn't feel I had the time, the commitment or anyone else would be interested what I do most days. I do some interesting things, some of which I can't talk about as it's work, but most of the time I feel I am the grey man with pipe and slippers Is it that you get an audience and you feel that you write something for them?

Many professional photographers have blogs on their websites, it apparantly atracts quite a lot of potential custmers.

Re: Im blogging!

This is to run alongside my website - the intended purpose is for people to get a better feel for who i am and what im about. I think its important for people to get to know me and how I work considering that I will be working with their children.

Ill be updating it with only things which are relevant to my work -its also going to include "sneek peeks" for clients.

Other than my reason i cannot fathom why others write personal blogs x

Re: Im blogging!

When it runs alongside your professional website I think it helps with your Search Engine rating as you get more traffic. Therefore if someone googles for a photographer you are more likely to come up.
Lots of pro photographers also use twitter and facebook now for generating interest and potentional new custom.
