Playing back video from a canon camera
I took some videos with my 550D yesterday but I can't work out how to play them on my computer.
Each clip has 2 files a MOV file and a THM file.
If I try to open a file I get an error message saying 'you may experience problem playing a video track because the required compressor could not be found.'
My computer won't play videos from hubby's HD video recorder, so is this likely to be a computer issue, or do I need to convert the files in someway?
Those of you with 7Ds, what do you do?

If you have recorded in HD (1080) you may find that unless you a a powerful computer the playback will be less than satisfactory. It takes a lot of processing power to display true HD from Canon cameras.

I have just tried converting to .avi. I can view it now but the picture is in slow motion while the audio isn't - does that sound like a computer processing issue?

Or it could be the conversion process.
Did you download VLC and try viewing it with that?
