Ice Cream Man...

Ah...just limbering up... putting this up for some C&C... you rip mine to shreds so I have a clear concience when I do yours later!

So, bit of a blown ice cream white... weird, the D300 usually handles stuff like that ok, but not today... What do you think of it?

Ps. yes, you know I like street photography, candid people pics etc.

Re: Ice Cream Man...

S' a good shot BC. He looks like he's eating his sorrows away - doesn't he look troubled? Very well caught

Ok thas what I like, what I'm not so keen on... the vignette appears imbalanced because the right is already dark, and his face and hand seem a tiny bit over-saturated. Have you tried the shot in mono?

But apart from those niggles I still like it - especially the expression..which seems to tell a story.

Re: Ice Cream Man...

Not overly fond of heavy vignettes but that's just a personal view.

Other than that I like it - good moment caught, good detail - great self portrait mate.

Re: Ice Cream Man...

ha..yes, 'tis me...

People do have different taste, I just thought it suited this pic...

Amazing what people don't see...I was just a couple of meters (or less) to his side pointing a big cam...unnoticed. Colour is 'falsified' a little Azz deliberately. I just tweaked it how I wanted the pic to go...he was quite a suntanned fella (see freckled head).

Re: Ice Cream Man...

Great capture. Love the ice cream on his face!!
I am finding the ice cream a bit distracting - shame that was blown.
I am undecided on the vignette. It does strike me as a bit heavy. It looses is arm to the right which I would want to recover.
I would love to see how this works in mono.

Re: Ice Cream Man...

Agree with the others, it's a great capture, but not sure of the post processing, think it would work better in Mono, or without the heavy vignette.

Re: Ice Cream Man...

Thanks for the comments all, appreciated. I knew it was at fault, it was just a capture down the town yesterday. You have hit on some of the things I was thinking...and I hadn't really noticed the arm had almost gone...Glad you are all on your toes Good stuff...!
