Wild dog's life

I was looking for a photo today, and passed a few that made me smile at the life the dogs have here with me - sometimes I wonder what they think of their surroundings....

Just for fun, I thought I'd post a few

That's close enough, guys..Spirit and Gryphon's swim is interrupted by the river horses.

Gryphon is nervous of elephants, but he has an excellent reverse gear.

Lions on the prowl, but the dogs are safely inside.

Wisp knows that, to find a prince, you have to kiss plenty of frogs.

Gryphon and the border collie donkeys wonder if they should be running away from that black cloud....

Anyone home?

Heavy traffic is alowwed to pass first.

Wisp watches a white rhino

My favourite, I think, and the one I was looking for... Gryphon and the current locally dominant male trade tips on herding.

Thanks for looking!

Re: Wild dog's life

Thanks, eveyone, glad you enjoyed them. The truth is that very often the dogs (and me) are just an oddity in the animal's day, they stop and stare (as we do!) for a while and then carry on with their lives, they have no desire to complicate their existance by getting involved with us in any way!
Perrodeagua, some frogs and almost all toads have some level of toxin they can secrete (usually from the temporal gland) as a defence. But this particular guy (The Foam Nest Frog) is not poisonous, relying on his colour-changing ability to keep him safe. Still wouldn't want to eat him though!

Re: Wild dog's life

Your life is such an adventure compared to my boring existence Sam! I'd love to live amongst nature like that - although I would prob be scared/worried of stings/bites/getting eaten up, half the time

Re: Wild dog's life

Amazing photos! Particularly love the first one and the other one with the elephant facing each other. And the frog one is brilliant! How did you manage to get the dog to sit with the frog on its nose long enough for you to get your camera, focus and shoot! Or have you been clicker training collies and frogs?
